Jaime Munguia was surprisingly knocked out by Bruno Surace, a fighter with only four knockouts, on Saturday night in the sixth round of their clash at the Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Mexico.

Canelo Comparison
What made this knockout by Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) more impressive was that he had to get up off the deck in the second round to come back to KO Munguia with a single punch in the sixth round.
What does that say about Canelo Alvarez? Not even he was able to knock out Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) when they fought on May 4th in Las Vegas. Canelo defeated Mugnuia by a 12-round unanimous decision, and he never came close to knocking him out.
Losing in front of his hometown fans in Tijuana, Mexico, has got to be a bitter pill for Munguia to swallow because they all saw what happened. His popularity is going to drop in Mexico now.
Berlanga’s Plans Derailed
Edgar Berlanga took the news of Munguia’s loss pretty hard. He had been hoping to fight him next in a Mexico vs. Puerto Rico matchup on PPV. Berlanga complained that Munguia had messed up the bag, which is a fair statement.
Surace would knock out Berlanga because of the way he fought tonight. He’d make easy work of him just like he did Munguia.
A fight between them on PPV would be impossible to sell, as both guys are coming off losses. It would be impossible to sell, especially when one of them didn’t even try to win but just came to survive.
What the New York-born Berlanga should do is call out Surace, and if he can’t get him, fight Caleb Plant. There i no bag for Berlanga. Canelo isn’t going to fight him again, and Munguia surely won’t either.
SMH !!!! Mungia fucked the bag up !!!!!!
