This unification bout between Ennis and Stanionis is guaranteed to be a fan-friendly, action-packed fight. Both men will enter the ring as champions, but only one man will leave the ring with the IBF, WBA, and Ring Magazine belts.

Back in April 2024, the newly elevated IBF world welterweight champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis signed with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing. The Philadelphia native returned to his hometown to defend his world title on two separate occasions.

Back in July 2024, Ennis looked very impressive in his Matchroom debut. With 1:08 left to go in the 5th round, Ennis landed a sharp counter left-hand shot that sent David Avanesyan down to the canvas.

Avanesyan got up, and then Ennis proceeded to land multiple shots to the head and body of Avanesyan. At the conclusion of the fifth round, the ringside physician examined David Avanesyan, and then he proceeded to put a halt to the contest.

Four months later, Ennis beat Karen Chukhadzhian by way of unanimous decision. After returning home to Philadelphia and having two successful title defenses, Jaron Ennis is ready to focus on his goal of becoming undisputed.

Ennis will take the first step towards his goal when he faces the WBA champion on the night of April 12th. Back in April 2022, Eimantas Stanionis defeated Radzhab Butaev via split decision and won the WBA (Regular) title.

Stanionis was supposed to fight Vergil Ortiz Jr, but the fight was postponed on multiple occasions. Stanionis finally made his return to the squared circle in May 2024 and defeated Gabriel Maestre via unanimous decision.

Three months later, when the then undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford moved up to face Israel Madrimov, Eimantas Stanionis was elevated to full champion. Now, on Saturday night, the Lithuanian boxer Eimantas Stanionis has the opportunity to become a unified world champion.

Jaron “Boots” Ennis is a fighter who has all the tools. Ennis is a versatile switch hitter who has elite footwork, head movement, punch placement, and punching power. His opponent Eimantas Stanionis is a heavy hitting pressure fighter who has a active jab, and he’s extremely efficient with his shots.

Ennis and Stanionis are both fighters who don’t mind standing in the pocket and exchanging punches. Due to both boxers willingness to work inside the pocket, Stanionis believes his fight with Ennis will be a slugfest.

Jaron Ennis signed with Matchroom because he believed they had a plan that would elevate his boxing career. During a interview with Ring Magazine, Eimantas Stanionis stated that his intent is to ruin those plans.

On Saturday night, April 12th, in Atlantic City, live on DAZN, two world champions will face each other in a winner-take-all match. Both fighters will enter the ring as an undefeated champion, but once the bell rings to start the bout, somebody’s 0 has got to go.
